About Stacey Van Skiver & VBG
For Stacey, glass isn’t just a trade—it’s a way of life. Born and raised in a family of glaziers, Stacey began learning the craft at just 11 years old, following in the footsteps of his father and uncles, who were respected names in the industry. His father was ranked among the top 10 glaziers in British Columbia in the 1970s, setting a high standard for skill and professionalism.
Stacey trained at BCIT from 1986 to 1990, becoming a certified journeyman glazier and auto glass technician. Over the years, he has worked across the country—from Fort Henry in Kingston to college campuses and construction sites in oil patch towns like Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, and Hudson’s Hope. He’s completed projects for GM, Safeway, Superstore, and numerous auto dealerships throughout Canada.
In 1996, Stacey settled in Princeton, BC, where he continued to expand his skills in both residential and commercial glazing. His work blends technical expertise with a keen eye for detail—especially in the finishing and design stages of glasswork, which he’s always loved.
Today, Stacey operates VBG Window & Door Solutions Ltd., a family-rooted business that carries on the legacy started by his father and uncles through the Van Skiver brothers’ original glass company. From ever-evolving auto glass to timeless residential and commercial projects, Stacey’s experience spans the full scope of the trade.
Beyond work, Stacey has a passion for classic cars and mentoring others in the industry. Whether it’s restoring a vintage ride or helping a new glazier develop their skills, Stacey is committed to preserving craftsmanship and sharing his knowledge.
